Deep Dark Chocolate Cookies


  • 2 cups flour

  • 3/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 10 ounces dark chocolate chips



  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Set aside. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and almond extract; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed. Stir in the dark chocolate chips

  2. Drop by heaping tablespoons about 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets.  I use parchment paper.

  3. Bake 9-11 minutes or until top of cookies begin to crack. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
